Wine

Michael Hall Barossa Valley Roussanne is handpicked from the Milky Hill Block at Greenock on the Barossa Valley floor, grown in sandy loam soils over clay.

Roussanne, a northern Rhône variety, is named after the russet coloured bloom it develops on its skin as it ripens. It is well suited to the warmer temperatures and sparse soils of the Barossa.

The grapes are destemmed and pressed. Following wild yeast fermentation in French oak, the wine matures for nine months. In some vintages it also undergoes partial malolactic fermentation.

Lemon yellow, Michael Hall Barossa Valley Roussanne is a dry, floral wine with bright citrus acidity and a grippy, powdery finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
